Coffee Roaster

We are on the lookout for a passionate and detail driven Coffee Roaster to join our growing coffee shop team. If you love the science and art behind transforming green beans into beautifully developed roasts, and you care deeply about consistency, flavor, and quality, you might be exactly who we need. As our Coffee Roaster, you will play a key role in shaping the flavor profile of every cup we serve. This is a hands on position for someone who understands that roasting is both precision work and creative craft.

Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee beans according to established profiles while maintaining strict quality standards

• Develop and refine roast profiles to highlight origin characteristics and seasonal offerings

• Monitor roast data, temperature curves, and timing to ensure consistency

• Conduct regular cupping sessions and collaborate with the team on flavor evaluation

• Manage green bean inventory, track usage, and maintain freshness standards

• Maintain roasting equipment and ensure proper cleaning and safety procedures

• Work closely with baristas to gather feedback and continuously improve roast performance

• Keep accurate production records and support ordering and supply planning

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Coffee Roaster or in a similar specialty coffee role

• Strong understanding of roast development, airflow, charge temperature, and profiling

• Ability to use roasting software and interpret roast curves

• Excellent sensory skills and familiarity with cupping protocols

• High level of attention to detail and consistency

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to lift coffee bags and stand for extended periods

• Passion for specialty coffee and a desire to keep learning
