Job Description

A well-organized kitchen relies on precision at every station, and the pantry section is where freshness, speed, and presentation come together. This role supports the cold kitchen by preparing salads, starters, garnishes, and light dishes that meet high service standards. The Pantry Chef will be responsible for preparing cold food items to specification, maintaining proper storage of ingredients, ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met, and supporting smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods. You will also coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely delivery of dishes and help minimize waste through careful portion control and stock handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare salads, cold appetizers, dressings, and garnishes according to recipes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry and cold preparation areas
• Ensure food items are stored correctly under safe temperature conditions
• Assist in receiving and checking quality of delivered ingredients
• Support menu execution during peak service hours
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene standards strictly
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen sections to ensure timely service
• Monitor ingredient freshness and report shortages or spoilage

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior experience in a professional kitchen or food preparation role
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency
• Good knife skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented mindset with clear communication skills
• Culinary training or relevant certification is an advantage but not mandatory
