Job Description

A busy, vibrant restaurant is looking for a detail-focused and creative Pantry Chef to join the kitchen team. If you enjoy preparing fresh cold dishes, salads, starters, and plated garnishes with precision and flair, this could be a great fit for you. You’ll play an important role in keeping the cold section consistent, attractive, and high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present cold dishes such as salads, appetizers, and chilled starters
  • Ensure all pantry items are fresh, properly stored, and portioned correctly
  • Assist in mise en place for service, including sauces, dressings, and garnishes
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cold kitchen section
  • Support senior chefs during busy service periods
  • Monitor ingredient stock and report shortages promptly
  • Ensure food presentation meets restaurant standards every time

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or cold section is an advantage
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during service hours
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in plating and presentation
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen environment
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques for cold dishes
