Job Description

A busy, guest-focused restaurant is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Steward to keep the heart of the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly. This role is essential in maintaining hygiene standards and supporting the culinary team during service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including work surfaces, floors, and storage spaces
  • Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment promptly
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste and adherence to recycling procedures
  • Support chefs with basic kitchen prep tasks when required
  • Keep dishwashing areas clean, organised, and fully operational
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries in an organised manner
  • Report any broken equipment or maintenance issues immediately

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is an advantage but not essential
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards or willingness to learn quickly
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long hours
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive and dependable attitude
  • Basic communication skills and willingness to follow instructions
  • Punctual, disciplined, and detail-focused work ethic
