Coffee Roaster

Job Description

Great coffee starts long before it reaches the cup. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Coffee Roaster to join our coffee shop team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the art and science of roasting and takes pride in producing exceptional coffee with consistent quality and flavor.

Key Responsibilities

• Roast coffee beans according to established profiles and quality standards.
• Monitor roasting equipment and make adjustments to achieve desired results.
• Conduct quality checks, cupping sessions, and flavor evaluations.
• Maintain accurate roasting records and inventory levels.
• Source and handle green coffee beans appropriately.
• Package and label roasted coffee for retail and in-house use.
• Clean and maintain roasting equipment and work areas.
• Collaborate with management and baristas on seasonal blends and new offerings.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety regulations.
• Assist with stock management and ordering of roasting supplies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in coffee roasting, specialty coffee, or a related production role preferred.
• Knowledge of roasting techniques, coffee origins, and flavor profiling.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot roasting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
• Basic record-keeping and inventory management skills.
• Ability to lift and move coffee bags and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certification in coffee roasting or specialty coffee is an advantage.
