There’s something special about the moment green coffee beans transform into something rich, aromatic, and full of character. Our coffee shop is looking for a skilled and passionate Coffee Roaster to take full ownership of that transformation and help us craft unforgettable brews for our customers. This role is hands-on, sensory-driven, and perfect for someone who understands that roasting is both an art and a science. You will work closely with our sourcing and barista teams to ensure every batch reflects the quality and story of the bean.

Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee beans to precise profiles that match desired flavor notes
• Monitor roasting time, temperature, and airflow for consistency and quality
• Cup and evaluate roasted batches to maintain flavor standards
• Maintain roasting equipment and ensure a clean, safe roasting environment
• Work with the team to develop new blends and seasonal offerings
• Track roast data and adjust profiles based on feedback and results
• Store and handle green and roasted beans properly to preserve freshness

Qualifications

• Previous experience in coffee roasting or specialty coffee production
• Strong sensory skills with the ability to identify aroma, acidity, and body differences
• Basic understanding of roast curves, bean development, and cupping techniques
• Attention to detail and patience when refining roast profiles
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a creative team
• Genuine passion for specialty coffee and continuous learning
