Catering Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and energetic Catering Assistant to join a busy restaurant team where good food and smooth service go hand in hand. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, supporting kitchen and service staff, and keeping things running efficiently during busy hours. You will play a key role in food preparation support, hygiene maintenance, and ensuring that customers receive well-presented meals on time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, and portioning ingredients
• Support chefs and kitchen staff during meal service
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
• Help with stocking supplies and organizing storage areas
• Ensure food handling follows hygiene and safety standards
• Assist in plating and packaging meals when required
• Dispose of waste properly and keep work areas tidy throughout shifts

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is an advantage but not required
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team
• Good stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Punctual, dependable, and able to handle routine kitchen tasks
• Good communication skills
