Catering Assistant

Job Description

A busy restaurant is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support daily food preparation, service, and kitchen operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is committed to delivering excellent service to guests and event clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and ingredient handling.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff during meal service.
• Prepare and arrange food items for catering orders and restaurant service.
• Ensure food presentation meets established standards.
• Set up and clear service areas before and after events or meal periods.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout food preparation and service areas.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries properly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, kitchen, catering, or food service environment is an advantage.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
