There’s something special about turning raw green coffee beans into the rich, aromatic roasts people look forward to every morning. Our coffee shop is looking for a Coffee Roaster who treats roasting not just as a process, but as a craft. This role is for someone who enjoys precision, experimentation, and the quiet satisfaction of getting every batch just right.

Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee beans according to established and experimental roast profiles
• Monitor temperature, timing, and airflow to ensure consistency and quality
• Taste and evaluate roasted batches, adjusting profiles where needed
• Maintain roasting equipment and ensure a clean, safe workspace
• Work closely with the café team to align roast profiles with brew methods and customer preferences
• Track roast logs and inventory of green beans

Qualifications

• Previous experience in coffee roasting or strong hands-on exposure in a specialty coffee environment
• Good understanding of roast levels, bean origins, and flavor development
• Strong sensory skills, especially taste and aroma recognition
• Attention to detail and patience with repetitive precision work
• Ability to work independently and maintain consistency under minimal supervision
• Passion for specialty coffee and continuous learning
