Trainee Chef

Are you passionate about food and eager to build a rewarding career in the culinary industry? We are looking for a motivated Trainee Chef to join our restaurant team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about learning professional kitchen operations while working alongside experienced chefs in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring according to recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Support receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies using proper inventory practices.
• Learn cooking techniques, plating standards, and menu preparation under supervision.
• Assist with setting up and closing kitchen stations.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and help maintain a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely meal preparation.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

Qualifications

• A certificate, diploma, or vocational training in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous internship, industrial training, or entry-level kitchen experience is beneficial but not required.
• Strong interest in developing a professional culinary career.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve culinary skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen-related tasks.
