Trainee Chef

A vibrant restaurant kitchen is looking for a motivated Trainee Chef ready to learn, grow, and develop real culinary skills in a fast-paced, professional environment. This role is perfect for someone passionate about food, eager to gain experience across different kitchen sections, and willing to build a long-term career in hospitality. You will work closely with experienced chefs, learning essential kitchen techniques, food preparation methods, and service standards while contributing to daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic food preparation including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients
• Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
• Help receive and store kitchen supplies properly
• Assist with prep for busy service periods
• Learn and rotate across different kitchen sections as required

Qualifications

• Strong passion for cooking and interest in culinary arts
• Willingness to learn and take direction in a busy kitchen environment
• Good attention to detail and personal hygiene
• Ability to work as part of a team under pressure
• Positive attitude, reliability, and consistency
• Basic understanding of kitchen tools and ingredients is an advantage but not required
• Commitment to building skills and growing within the kitchen team
