Job Description

A busy and customer-focused café is looking for a reliable and organized Storekeeper to oversee inventory operations and ensure the smooth flow of supplies. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate stock records while supporting daily café operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming deliveries, ensuring items match purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Organize and store food, beverages, packaging materials, and operational supplies according to safety and storage standards.
• Monitor stock levels and conduct routine inventory counts to maintain accurate records.
• Issue supplies to relevant departments while maintaining proper documentation.
• Identify low-stock items and communicate replenishment needs to management.
• Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organized storeroom.
• Check product quality, expiry dates, and report damaged or expired items.
• Assist in preparing inventory reports and supporting periodic audits.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations is an advantage.
• Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Clerk, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar stock control role, preferably within a café, restaurant, hotel, or retail environment.
• Good understanding of inventory management practices and stock control procedures.
• Familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
• Strong numerical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving stock when required.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
