Job Description

A well-established cafe is looking for a reliable and organised Storekeeper to oversee inventory, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure that ingredients, beverages, packaging, and operational supplies are always available. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to supporting smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming deliveries.
• Store food, beverages, and supplies according to safety and storage standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock when required.
• Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile inventory records.
• Issue supplies to kitchen and service teams while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Check expiry dates and rotate stock using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and secure storeroom.
• Report damaged, missing, or expired items promptly.
• Coordinate with suppliers and management regarding stock shortages and deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and storage regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Clerk, or in a similar stock control role, preferably in a cafe, restaurant, or food service environment.
• Good understanding of inventory management and stock control procedures.
• Familiarity with FIFO inventory practices and proper storage standards.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and prepare stock reports.
• Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or point of sale systems.
• Strong numerical, organisational, and record-keeping abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move stock safely when required.
• Dependable, honest, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
