Job Description

A busy and customer-focused café is seeking a reliable and organized Storekeeper to oversee inventory, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure that food, beverages, and operational supplies are always available. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, values accuracy, and plays a key part in supporting smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming deliveries.
• Store products safely and in accordance with food safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish supplies when necessary.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or digital systems.
• Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Issue supplies to kitchen and service staff as required.
• Ensure proper rotation of stock using FIFO principles.
• Keep the storeroom clean, organized, and secure.
• Report damaged, expired, or missing items to management.
• Assist with inventory audits and purchasing coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Clerk, or in a similar stock control role, preferably in hospitality or food service.
• Good understanding of inventory management and stock control procedures.
• Familiarity with food storage and hygiene regulations.
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory software is an advantage.
• Strong numerical and record-keeping abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lift and move stock safely when required.
• Honest, dependable, and attentive to detail.
• Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
