Security Officer

Job Description

A well-established hotel is looking for a vigilant and professional Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, visitors, and team members. This position is ideal for an individual who remains calm under pressure, demonstrates sound judgment, and is committed to protecting people and property while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the hotel premises regularly to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property.
• Monitor surveillance systems, security alarms, and access control points.
• Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, incidents, and guest concerns.
• Control access to restricted areas and verify the identity of visitors where required.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and report potential safety or security risks.
• Prepare accurate incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
• Assist with emergency evacuations and implement established safety procedures.
• Work closely with hotel management and relevant authorities when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Provide courteous assistance and directions to guests while maintaining a visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security, safety, or protective services role, preferably within a hotel or customer-facing environment.
• Valid security certification or licence where required by applicable regulations.
• Strong observation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain composed and respond effectively during emergencies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and emergency response procedures.
• Physically fit and able to perform patrol duties for extended periods.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
• Current First Aid or emergency response certification is an advantage.
