Sanitation Officer

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sanitation Officer to help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and health compliance across all hotel areas. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of guest areas, kitchens, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities to ensure sanitation standards are consistently met.
• Monitor cleaning schedules and verify that sanitation procedures are properly followed.
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
• Train and guide cleaning staff on proper sanitation practices and the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain accurate sanitation records, inspection reports, and corrective action logs.
• Identify hygiene risks and recommend preventive measures.
• Coordinate deep cleaning activities and monitor their completion.
• Ensure waste is handled and disposed of in accordance with established procedures.
• Report maintenance or sanitation concerns that may affect guest or employee safety.
• Support internal and external hygiene inspections when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health, Public Health, Hospitality Management, Food Safety, or a related field.
• Previous experience in sanitation, housekeeping supervision, environmental health, or a similar role, preferably within a hotel.
• Strong understanding of sanitation procedures, infection prevention, and health regulations.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and their safe handling.
• Excellent observational and organizational skills.
• Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.
• Professional attitude with a commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
