Sanitation Officer

Job Description

We are committed to maintaining a hotel environment where cleanliness, hygiene, and guest wellbeing are treated as daily priorities. We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Sanitation Officer to support high standards across guest areas, staff facilities, food service spaces, and other operational areas of the hotel. The successful candidate will monitor sanitation practices, identify potential hygiene concerns, and help ensure that established cleaning and safety procedures are consistently followed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sanitation and hygiene standards throughout the hotel.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, washrooms, and staff facilities.
• Identify sanitation issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
• Ensure cleaning teams follow approved hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and sanitation reports.
• Monitor the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals.
• Support waste segregation, disposal, and pest-control procedures.
• Promote proper hand hygiene and infection-prevention practices among staff.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and management teams to resolve sanitation concerns.
• Report serious hygiene or environmental risks promptly to management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Sanitation, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Professional training or certification in sanitation, food safety, or occupational health is an advantage.
• Previous experience in hotel sanitation, housekeeping supervision, environmental health, or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of cleaning standards, hygiene procedures, waste management, and sanitation practices.
• Strong observation, reporting, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different hotel departments.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
