Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain sanitation standards throughout guest and staff areas.
• Conduct routine hygiene inspections and identify areas requiring improvement.
• Ensure cleaning and sanitation procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
• Train and guide team members on proper sanitation practices and infection prevention.
• Maintain records of sanitation inspections, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
• Inspect cleaning equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and used safely.
• Coordinate deep cleaning schedules for public areas, guest rooms, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities.
• Investigate sanitation concerns and recommend effective corrective measures.
• Monitor the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals.
• Work closely with department heads to promote a culture of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Assist during health inspections and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sanitation, environmental health, housekeeping, facilities management, or a similar role, preferably within a hotel.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, infection control practices, and health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe handling procedures.
• Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide guidance to team members.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
• Good physical stamina and willingness to conduct regular inspections.
• Professional attitude with a strong commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Relevant training or certification in sanitation, environmental health, occupational health and safety, or a related field is an advantage.
