Our restaurant is looking for a dependable and organised Prep Cook to support the kitchen team in delivering fresh, well-prepared dishes. The successful candidate will handle ingredient preparation, maintain high food safety standards, and keep the kitchen organised during busy service periods. Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, meats, sauces, garnishes, and other ingredients according to recipes.
• Measure, portion, label, and store ingredients correctly.
• Assist chefs with daily food preparation and kitchen tasks.
• Maintain clean and sanitised preparation areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and storage procedures.
• Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
• Minimise food waste through careful preparation and proper storage.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Prep Cook, Kitchen Assistant, or similar restaurant role is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe storage practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organisation, and detail.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Culinary training or a relevant food preparation certificate is an advantage.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle routine kitchen tasks.
