Order Taker

Job Description

We are looking for an Order Taker to join our growing coffee shop team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring every order is taken accurately and every guest enjoys a welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and assist them with placing food and beverage orders.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the point of sale system.
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Recommend menu items and promotions to enhance the customer experience.
• Coordinate with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.
• Verify orders before serving or handing them to customers.
• Handle cash, card, and digital payments accurately.
• Keep the ordering counter clean, organised, and well stocked.
• Address customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and company service standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, or order taking in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, or similar environment is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point of sale systems.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Friendly, professional, and customer focused attitude.
• Willingness to learn menu items, beverages, and service procedures.
