Order Taker

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and organised Order Taker to join our restaurant team. If you enjoy interacting with customers, can keep track of multiple orders without missing a beat, and bring a positive attitude to every shift, you could be a great fit for the role.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and assist them with placing their orders.
• Listen carefully and record food and beverage requests accurately.
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and available options.
• Confirm orders and communicate special requests clearly to the kitchen and service team.
• Process orders through the restaurant’s ordering or point-of-sale system.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure orders are handled efficiently.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Keep order-taking areas clean, organised, and ready for service.
• Follow restaurant procedures for accuracy, food safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, food service, or customer-facing role is an advantage.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when recording orders.
• Comfortable using point-of-sale or digital ordering systems.
• Ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
