Order Taker

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and attentive Order Taker to become part of our growing cafe team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and takes pride in providing accurate, efficient service. As an Order Taker, you will play an important role in creating a positive dining experience by ensuring every order is handled with care and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Enter orders into the point of sale system promptly and correctly.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely order preparation.
• Handle customer requests, modifications, and special dietary preferences.
• Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized ordering counter and work area.
• Resolve minor customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Restock menus, takeaway supplies, and other service essentials.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and company service standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, coffee shop, or customer service role is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to take accurate orders.
• Comfortable using point of sale systems and handling payments.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.
