Operations Supervisor

Job Description

An established cafe is looking for a proactive and organized Operations Supervisor to oversee daily activities, support team performance, and ensure smooth service delivery. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading people, and is committed to maintaining high operational standards while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the cafe to ensure efficient service.
• Lead, motivate, and support team members during daily shifts.
• Monitor staff schedules, attendance, and productivity.
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
• Oversee inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reporting.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Monitor operational costs and help reduce waste.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to existing staff.
• Collaborate with management to implement operational improvements and achieve business goals.

Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or equivalent qualification in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within a cafe, restaurant, or food service environment.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications is an advantage.
• Knowledge of food safety and workplace health standards.
