Maintenance Technician

Job Description

A well-established hotel is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join its engineering and facilities team. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys solving technical problems, maintaining building systems, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for guests and employees. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, respond promptly to repair requests, and help keep hotel facilities operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and public areas.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently while minimizing downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records accurately.
• Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with room renovations, painting, carpentry, and general upkeep as needed.
• Support emergency maintenance activities and participate in on-call duties when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or vocational training in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, HVAC, or a related field.
• Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, hospitality, commercial, or facilities environment is preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Physical fitness to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting equipment and working in various environments.
