Job Description

A well-maintained hotel depends on reliable facilities, responsive repairs, and careful attention to detail. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep the hotel’s equipment, rooms, utilities, and shared areas operating safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will handle routine maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and respond promptly to repair requests while maintaining high technical and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect hotel facilities, equipment, rooms, and common areas to identify maintenance issues.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs promptly and effectively.
• Respond to maintenance requests from hotel departments and address urgent technical issues.
• Maintain air-conditioning, lighting, water systems, fixtures, doors, and other hotel equipment.
• Monitor maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts and report replacement requirements.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.
• Support contractors and specialist technicians during major repairs or servicing.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and ensure maintenance activities are completed responsibly.
• Identify recurring faults and recommend practical solutions to reduce future breakdowns.
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment organised and in good working condition.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations when required.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification, vocational training, or equivalent practical experience in maintenance, electrical work, mechanical systems, plumbing, or a related field.
• Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial property, building, or similar environment is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to use common maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Ability to read basic technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment instructions.
• Reliable, organised, and capable of working independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
