Job Description

Our hotel spa provides guests with a relaxing and enjoyable environment centred around wellness, recreation, and attentive service. We are looking for a responsible and alert Lifeguard to join our team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming pool area. The successful candidate will monitor swimmers, respond quickly to emergencies, and ensure pool safety procedures are followed consistently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the swimming pool and surrounding areas continuously to identify and prevent potential hazards.
• Enforce pool rules and safety procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide appropriate first aid when required.
• Perform regular safety checks of the pool, equipment, and surrounding facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and safety-related activities.
• Keep the pool area clean, organised, and free from avoidable hazards.
• Communicate clearly with guests regarding pool guidelines and safe swimming practices.
• Work closely with spa and hotel staff to maintain high standards of guest safety.
• Participate in emergency response drills and follow established evacuation procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, or damaged equipment to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications

• Current lifeguard certification from a recognised training organisation.
• Valid first aid and CPR certification.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a hotel, spa, resort, leisure centre, or swimming facility.
• Strong swimming ability and confidence in responding to water-related emergencies.
• Good knowledge of pool safety procedures and emergency response practices.
• Excellent observation and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in emergency situations.
• Physically fit and capable of carrying out lifeguard duties safely.
• Professional appearance and a responsible approach to guest safety.
