Laundry Supervisor

Job Description

A well-established hotel is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Laundry Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the laundry department. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining high standards, leading a team, and ensuring linens, uniforms, and guest laundry are processed efficiently. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness, quality, and exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of the laundry team to ensure smooth operations.
• Assign duties and monitor staff performance to maintain productivity.
• Inspect washed, dried, and pressed items to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensure proper handling of guest garments, hotel linens, towels, and uniforms.
• Monitor inventory levels of detergents, chemicals, and laundry supplies.
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping department to meet linen requirements.
• Ensure laundry equipment is operated safely and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Train new team members on laundry procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
• Maintain accurate laundry records, inventory logs, and production reports.
• Enforce health, hygiene, and workplace safety standards throughout the department.
• Resolve operational issues efficiently while maintaining service quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laundry operation, with supervisory experience in a hotel preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial laundry equipment, fabric care, and stain removal techniques.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and reporting.
• Understanding of workplace health, hygiene, and safety procedures.
