Kitchen Assistant – Restaurant Food Preparation & Support

📍 Doha, Qatar

Job Overview

We are hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs and kitchen staff in daily food preparation and kitchen maintenance. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Core Responsibilities

Food Preparation Support

• Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as:
  • Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables
  • Preparing ingredients for cooking
• Follow instructions from chefs for portioning and preparation.

Kitchen Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Ensure floors, surfaces, and storage areas are hygienic.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain cleanliness standards.

Stock Handling & Storage

• Receive and store food supplies properly.
• Ensure items are labeled and stored according to guidelines.
• Monitor stock rotation to avoid spoilage.

Support During Service

• Assist chefs during busy service periods.
• Help with plating simple dishes when required.
• Ensure kitchen tools and ingredients are readily available.

Health & Safety Compliance

• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Wear appropriate protective clothing.
• Report any hazards or issues to supervisors.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not required.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene practices.
