IT Support Officer

Job Description

A busy restaurant is looking for a skilled and proactive IT Support Officer to help keep our technology running efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users, and ensuring that systems remain reliable in a fast-moving environment. You will play an important role in maintaining the technology that supports daily restaurant operations, from point-of-sale systems to office networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to restaurant and office staff.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Monitor and troubleshoot point-of-sale systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain network connectivity, internet services, and wireless access points.
• Perform routine system updates, backups, and security checks.
• Set up user accounts and manage system access permissions.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly.
• Coordinate with external vendors for repairs, maintenance, and technical support when required.
• Maintain accurate records of support requests, system changes, and IT assets.
• Recommend technology improvements that enhance operational efficiency and security.

Qualifications

• Experience providing IT support in a business environment, preferably within a restaurant or other customer-focused setting.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and TCP/IP.
• Experience supporting point-of-sale systems is an advantage.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
