Job Description

An organised and detail-oriented Inventory Controller is needed to oversee stock management and ensure the smooth flow of inventory across all restaurant operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate records, preventing stock shortages, and supporting efficient kitchen and service operations through effective inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily inventory levels for food, beverages, cleaning supplies, and operational materials.
• Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems and manual logs where required.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
• Work closely with the kitchen and purchasing teams to forecast inventory requirements.
• Track product usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and control costs.
• Ensure proper storage practices and stock rotation following food safety standards.
• Prepare inventory reports for management, highlighting stock movements and variances.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding shortages, damaged items, or incorrect deliveries.
• Maintain organised storage areas that support efficient stock handling.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or storekeeping within a restaurant or food service environment.
• Strong numerical, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
• Familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to analyse stock data and identify discrepancies.
• Good understanding of food storage, stock rotation, and inventory control procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
