Inventory Clerk

Job Description

.We are looking for an Inventory Clerk to join our team and take responsibility for monitoring stock levels, recording inventory movements, and helping ensure that essential bar supplies are available when needed. The successful candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced bar environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, count, and record incoming stock and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for beverages, food items, packaging, and operating supplies.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical quantities with inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels and identify items that require replenishment.
• Track stock movements, transfers, breakages, wastage, and discrepancies.
• Organise storage areas to ensure products are properly labelled and easy to locate.
• Check product quantities and condition during deliveries.
• Report damaged, missing, expired, or unusual stock to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with preparing inventory reports and stock summaries.
• Work closely with bar staff, purchasing personnel, and management to support efficient stock control.
• Follow established procedures for secure storage and handling of inventory.
• Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe stockroom.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, warehousing, or a similar role is preferred.
• Experience working in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or other food and beverage environment is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock records.
• Good basic mathematics and record-keeping skills.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets, inventory software, or point-of-sale systems.
• Good organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and follow them through to resolution.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and organising stock safely.
