Groundskeeper

Job Description

Our hotel is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to maintain attractive, clean, and well-presented outdoor areas. The successful candidate will take pride in keeping gardens, lawns, pathways, entrances, and recreational spaces in excellent condition while supporting a pleasant environment for guests, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other landscaped areas.
• Mow, trim, prune, weed, water, and fertilise plants as required.
• Keep pathways, entrances, outdoor seating areas, and grounds clean and orderly.
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and landscaping equipment safely.
• Identify damaged plants, irrigation issues, pests, and other grounds-related concerns.
• Collect leaves, branches, and garden waste and dispose of them appropriately.
• Assist with seasonal planting, landscaping projects, and outdoor maintenance tasks.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures while working.
• Report maintenance issues requiring specialised attention to the appropriate department.
• Support the hotel team in maintaining consistently high outdoor presentation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance is preferred.
• Good knowledge of basic gardening and plant-care practices.
• Ability to operate common gardening and landscaping equipment safely.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, detail, and presentation.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible approach to work.
• Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
• A certificate or vocational training in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is an advantage.
