Are you passionate about coffee and driven by the pursuit of exceptional quality? We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Green Coffee Buyer to join our growing coffee shop team. This role is ideal for someone who understands coffee sourcing, values strong supplier relationships, and is committed to ensuring every batch of coffee meets the highest standards before it reaches our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Source high-quality green coffee beans from trusted producers and suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, exporters, and importers.
• Evaluate coffee samples through cupping and quality assessments.
• Negotiate purchasing contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor coffee market trends, harvest reports, and supply chain developments.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure an uninterrupted supply of green coffee.
• Work closely with roasting and operations teams to align purchasing with production needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation.
• Ensure all purchased coffee meets quality, sustainability, and food safety standards.
• Identify opportunities to introduce new coffee origins and seasonal offerings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in green coffee sourcing, coffee purchasing, or a related procurement role.
• Strong understanding of coffee grading, cupping, and quality evaluation techniques.
• Knowledge of global coffee-producing regions and seasonal harvest cycles.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience monitoring commodity markets.
• Proficiency in inventory management and purchasing software.
• Ability to interpret quality reports and make informed buying decisions.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple supplier relationships and purchasing schedules.
• Professional cupping certification or coffee quality training is an advantage.
• A genuine passion for specialty coffee and continuous learning.
