Green Coffee Buyer

Job Description

Bring your coffee knowledge, curiosity, and sharp buying instincts to our coffee shop. We are looking for a Green Coffee Buyer who can source quality green beans, build strong supplier relationships, and help us keep every cup backed by excellent raw materials.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate high-quality green coffee beans from suitable suppliers and producers.
• Research coffee origins, harvests, varieties, processing methods, and market trends.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms.
• Maintain strong relationships with farmers, exporters, importers, and suppliers.
• Coordinate sample evaluation, cupping sessions, and quality assessments.
• Monitor inventory levels and plan purchases according to business needs.
• Track market prices and identify opportunities for cost-effective purchasing.
• Work closely with roasting and coffee teams to understand quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier documentation.
• Support responsible and sustainable sourcing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Coffee Management, Business, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in coffee buying, sourcing, procurement, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of green coffee quality, grading, origins, and processing methods.
• Familiarity with coffee cupping and sensory evaluation.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of coffee market trends.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to analyse pricing, quality, and supplier information effectively.
• Willingness to travel when required for sourcing, supplier visits, or industry events.
