Food Runner

Job Description

We are a busy restaurant committed to delivering well-presented meals and attentive service from the kitchen to the table. We are looking for a reliable and energetic Food Runner to join our team and help ensure every order reaches guests promptly, accurately, and in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is organised, observant, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant while supporting both kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct tables quickly and accurately.
• Check dishes for presentation, completeness, and correct table numbers before delivery.
• Communicate with servers and kitchen staff regarding order updates or special requests.
• Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables when required.
• Maintain clean and organised service areas throughout each shift.
• Handle plates, trays, and serving equipment safely.
• Help coordinate the smooth flow of orders during busy service periods.
• Respond promptly to requests from servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff.
• Follow restaurant standards for food handling, hygiene, and presentation.
• Support other restaurant duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Physically able to stand, walk, and carry food trays during shifts.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under pressure.
