Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily café operations to ensure efficient service and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve excellent performance.
• Schedule shifts and manage staff attendance to maintain adequate coverage.
• Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by resolving concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards throughout the café.
• Oversee inventory levels, place stock orders, and minimise waste.
• Assist with cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation, and operational reporting.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.
• Collaborate with management to improve operational processes and achieve business goals.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report repair needs promptly.
• Promote a positive team culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a café, coffee shop, or food service environment.
• Strong understanding of café operations, customer service, and daily workflow management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience with stock control, inventory management, and ordering procedures.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
• Confidence in handling cash, operating point-of-sale systems, and preparing operational reports.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
