Duty Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive Duty Manager to oversee daily operations, support departmental teams, and ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional stay. This role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Supervise front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and other operational departments during assigned shifts.
• Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution.
• Monitor service quality and implement improvements where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
• Support, motivate, and guide team members to achieve excellent performance.
• Conduct daily shift briefings and maintain effective communication between departments.
• Monitor occupancy levels, guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
• Assist with staff scheduling and operational planning when required.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and make informed decisions to protect guests, staff, and property.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate operational updates to senior management.

Qualifications

• Diploma, HND, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in hotel operations, with supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to resolve guest concerns with professionalism and tact.
• Strong organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Proficiency in hotel management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Good understanding of hotel health, safety, and security standards.
