A specialty coffee shop is looking for a skilled and passionate Coffee Roaster to join the team. This role is perfect for someone who finds joy in unlocking flavor profiles, understands beans at a deep level, and can consistently bring out the best in every roast. You will be at the heart of the coffee journey, shaping the taste that customers experience in every cup.

Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee beans to precise profiles that meet quality standards
• Monitor roast levels, temperature curves, and development times
• Conduct regular cupping sessions to evaluate flavor, aroma, and consistency
• Maintain roasting equipment and ensure it is always in top condition
• Work closely with the sourcing and barista teams to align roast profiles with brew methods
• Track roast data and adjust profiles for seasonal and origin variations
• Ensure freshness by managing roast schedules and batch rotation
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the roasting area

Qualifications

• Previous experience in coffee roasting or strong hands-on exposure in a specialty coffee environment
• Solid understanding of coffee origins, processing methods, and flavor development
• Ability to interpret roast curves and adjust profiles confidently
• Strong sensory skills, especially in cupping and flavor identification
• Attention to detail and consistency under production schedules
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with a team
• Passion for specialty coffee and continuous learning
