Chocolatier
Job Description
We are looking for a creative and detail-driven Chocolatier to join our café team. This role is perfect for someone who sees chocolate as more than an ingredient, but as a craft, a story, and an experience. You will be responsible for designing, producing, and presenting handcrafted chocolate creations that delight our customers and elevate our dessert offerings.
Responsibilities
- Create a variety of artisanal chocolates, truffles, pralines, and seasonal specials
- Develop new chocolate recipes that align with the café’s brand and customer preferences
- Temper, mold, and decorate chocolate with precision and consistency
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organization
- Manage ingredient sourcing and monitor stock levels for chocolate and related supplies
- Present finished products in an appealing, retail-ready style
- Collaborate with pastry and café teams on dessert menus and promotions
- Ensure quality control for every product leaving the kitchen
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chocolatier, Pastry Chef, or in a similar confectionery role
- Strong understanding of chocolate tempering, molding, and decoration techniques
- Creativity in flavour pairing and product presentation
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment
- Attention to detail with strong artistic and manual skills
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
- Formal culinary or pastry training is an advantage but not mandatory for highly skilled artisans
