Job Description

Our cafe is passionate about creating memorable experiences through exceptional desserts, handcrafted treats, and beautifully presented chocolate creations. We are looking for a talented Chocolatier to bring creativity, precision, and a genuine love of chocolate to our kitchen. The successful candidate will play an important role in developing delicious chocolate products that complement our cafe menu while maintaining consistently high standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare handcrafted chocolates, truffles, pralines, ganaches, moulded chocolates, and other chocolate-based products.
• Temper and work with different types of chocolate to achieve excellent texture, finish, and flavour.
• Develop creative chocolate desserts and seasonal specials for the cafe.
• Decorate and present chocolate products to a consistently high standard.
• Measure and combine ingredients accurately according to recipes and production requirements.
• Maintain clean, organised, and hygienic workstations and equipment.
• Monitor ingredient quality, storage conditions, and stock levels.
• Experiment with flavours, fillings, textures, and presentation techniques.
• Collaborate with chefs and cafe staff to develop new menu items.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures at all times.

Qualifications

• Professional training or certification in pastry arts, confectionery, culinary arts, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Chocolatier, Pastry Chef, Confectioner, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of chocolate tempering, moulding, dipping, and finishing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
• Creative approach to flavours and product development.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy cafe kitchen.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Passion for chocolate, desserts, and high-quality food production.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a kitchen team.
