Our cafe takes pride in creating memorable sweet experiences through carefully crafted chocolate products, thoughtful presentation, and consistent quality. We are looking for a creative and detail-focused Chocolatier to join our team and bring expertise, precision, and fresh ideas to our chocolate offering. The successful candidate will play an important role in developing handcrafted chocolates, maintaining high production standards, and contributing to the cafe’s reputation for excellent desserts and confectionery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of handcrafted chocolates, pralines, truffles, ganaches, and chocolate-based desserts.
• Temper and work with different types of chocolate to achieve the required texture, finish, and flavour.
• Develop new chocolate recipes and seasonal products that complement the cafe’s menu.
• Decorate and present chocolate products to a consistently high standard.
• Monitor ingredient quality, storage conditions, and production temperatures.
• Maintain accurate production records and follow established recipes and procedures.
• Ensure the chocolate preparation area is clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards.
• Control ingredient usage and minimise waste during production.
• Collaborate with chefs, bakers, and cafe staff when developing desserts and specialty products.
• Stay informed about current chocolate techniques, flavours, and confectionery trends.

Qualifications

• Professional training or certification in pastry arts, confectionery, culinary arts, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Chocolatier, Pastry Chef, Confectioner, or in a similar chocolate-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of chocolate tempering, moulding, dipping, coating, and finishing techniques.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
• Creative approach to flavour combinations, product development, and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced cafe environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
