Job Description
A café is seeking a skilled Chocolatier to design, prepare, and present handcrafted chocolate creations ranging from truffles and filled bonbons to specialty desserts and seasonal treats. The role blends precision, creativity, and consistency to maintain a high-end dessert experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Create handcrafted chocolate confections, including truffles, pralines, bars, and dipped fruits
- Develop new dessert concepts aligned with café themes and seasonal menus
- Temper, mould, and decorate chocolate with precision and artistic detail
- Maintain quality control across all chocolate-based products
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients
- Monitor stock levels of cocoa, fillings, and decorative materials
- Collaborate with pastry and kitchen teams on dessert pairings and presentations
- Uphold hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards in all production areas
Qualifications & Skills
- Professional training in pastry arts, confectionery, or culinary arts
- Proven experience working with chocolate production or dessert preparation
- Strong understanding of chocolate tempering techniques and ingredient behaviour
- Creative ability for design, flavour pairing, and presentation aesthetics
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency in production
- Ability to work efficiently under time-sensitive café service demands
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a kitchen environment
- Portfolio of chocolate work or previous dessert creations is an advantage
