Catering Assistant

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation under the guidance of kitchen staff.
• Set up serving areas and ensure food is presented attractively.
• Serve meals and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and food preparation stations.
• Wash utensils, dishes, and kitchen equipment as required.
• Replenish food, beverages, and supplies during service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Support stock rotation and assist with receiving deliveries.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and keep work areas organised.
• Work closely with kitchen and front of house teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant, Food Service Assistant, or in a similar restaurant role is an advantage.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
