Job Description

Our bar is looking for a dependable and energetic Barback to support the bartending team and keep daily bar operations running smoothly. The successful candidate will play an important behind-the-scenes role by maintaining stock levels, keeping work areas organised, assisting with service preparation, and ensuring bartenders have everything they need to deliver efficient service. We value teamwork, speed, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders with preparing the bar before, during, and after service.
• Restock beverages, glassware, ice, garnishes, and other essential supplies.
• Keep bar counters, storage areas, equipment, and service spaces clean and organised.
• Collect and wash used glassware and ensure clean items are readily available.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors when supplies are running low.
• Receive, move, and properly store beverage deliveries and bar supplies.
• Assist with basic preparation tasks such as cutting garnishes and replenishing service items.
• Support bartenders during busy periods by responding quickly to requests.
• Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Follow workplace safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
• Assist with closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and securing bar areas.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, cafe, or similar service environment is preferred.
• Strong ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to remain active throughout a shift.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to take direction.
• Good attention to cleanliness, organisation, and detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining service standards.
• Basic understanding of bar equipment, beverages, and service procedures is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn bartending techniques and develop within the bar team.
• A positive attitude and professional approach to work.
