Bar Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for a confident and organised Bar Supervisor to oversee daily bar operations, support the team, and ensure every guest receives prompt, professional service. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership with excellent knowledge of bar service, stock control, and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bartenders, barbacks, and support staff during daily shifts.
• Coordinate staff duties, shift assignments, and break schedules.
• Monitor drink preparation and service to ensure consistent quality.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and monitor beverage usage.
• Check deliveries and ensure products are stored correctly.
• Monitor cash handling, sales transactions, and end-of-shift reports.
• Ensure the bar area, equipment, and service stations remain clean and organised.
• Handle guest questions, requests, and service concerns professionally.
• Train and coach team members on service standards and bar procedures.
• Monitor compliance with safety, hygiene, and responsible service policies.
• Support the Bar Manager with daily operational tasks and reporting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, club, or similar service environment.
• Experience supervising or leading a bar team is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of beverages, bar service, and basic cocktail preparation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable handling cash, stock records, and basic operational reports.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during busy service periods.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and service quality.
• Reliable, professional, and capable of motivating a team.
