Bar Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for a confident and organised Bar Supervisor to support the daily operations of our bar. The successful candidate will help lead the bar team, maintain excellent service standards, monitor stock, and ensure guests receive a consistently enjoyable experience. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a practical understanding of bar operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bartenders, barbacks, and support staff during daily shifts.
• Coordinate staff duties and ensure smooth service during busy periods.
• Monitor drink preparation, presentation, and service quality.
• Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance development.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and help control beverage costs.
• Check bar equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve service issues promptly.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with workplace procedures.
• Support cash handling, sales reporting, and end-of-shift procedures.
• Work closely with management to improve bar performance and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or similar service environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of beverages, bar service, and basic inventory control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional approach to customer service and staff management.
• Food safety, beverage service, or bar management certification is an advantage.
