Assistant Housekeeper

Job Description

Our hotel is committed to providing clean, comfortable, and well-maintained guest spaces supported by attentive service and high housekeeping standards. We are looking for an Assistant Housekeeper to support the housekeeping team, coordinate daily cleaning activities, and help ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeper with the daily coordination and supervision of housekeeping staff.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met.
• Allocate cleaning duties and monitor task completion throughout each shift.
• Support room attendants with supplies, equipment, and guidance when required.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, and lost property according to hotel procedures.
• Monitor linen, cleaning products, and housekeeping supplies to help maintain adequate stock levels.
• Assist with staff training and reinforce proper cleaning, safety, and service procedures.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate housekeeping records and communicate important updates to management.
• Step in for the Housekeeper when necessary to maintain smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory or senior housekeeping role.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, room presentation, and housekeeping standards.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and support a housekeeping team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with housekeeping equipment, chemicals, linen handling, and workplace safety procedures.
• A certificate, diploma, or relevant qualification in hotel management, housekeeping, or a related field is an advantage.
• Physically capable of performing housekeeping duties and standing for extended periods.
