Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Job Description

A busy restaurant is seeking a motivated and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support daily operations and help deliver an outstanding dining experience. This role works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to oversee staff, maintain service standards, coordinate restaurant activities, and ensure guests receive exceptional service from arrival to departure. Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
• Supervise and support front-of-house team members during service.
• Help recruit, train, coach, and motivate restaurant staff.
• Monitor service quality and ensure company standards are consistently maintained.
• Coordinate staff schedules and daily shift assignments.
• Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and service recovery professionally.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
• Support the planning and execution of special events and promotions.
• Prepare operational reports and assist in achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Step in to manage operations in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Experience with restaurant point-of-sale systems and cash handling.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Experience in inventory control and cost management is an advantage.
