Assistant Bar Manager

We are looking for a confident and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to help lead daily bar operations, inspire the team, and maintain outstanding service standards. Responsibilities

• Support the Bar Manager in overseeing daily bar operations.
• Supervise bartenders and bar staff to ensure efficient and professional service.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly resolve guest concerns.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure beverages are prepared and served according to quality and presentation standards.
• Monitor stock levels, place replenishment requests, and assist with inventory control.
• Help minimise waste and control beverage costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and responsible alcohol service regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked bar at all times.
• Assist in implementing promotions and initiatives to increase sales.
• Support cash handling procedures and daily reconciliation.
• Step into leadership responsibilities whenever the Bar Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a bar or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails, wines, spirits, and bar operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, train, and develop team members.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with inventory management and stock control.
• Sound understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Proficiency in point of sale systems and basic computer applications.
• A proactive attitude with strong problem solving and decision making skills.
