Accounts Manager

Job Description

A well-established cafe is looking for an organised and commercially minded Accounts Manager to oversee financial operations and support informed business decisions. This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to the continued success of a growing cafe.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate financial records
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
• Process payroll and ensure timely statutory payments where applicable
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
• Prepare financial analyses to support management decisions
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate bookkeeping
• Coordinate audits and provide required financial documentation
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations
• Monitor inventory valuation and cost control in collaboration with operational teams
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage
• Previous experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within a cafe, restaurant, retail, or food service environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines
• Integrity, professionalism, and sound financial judgement
